Monthly Update - June 2015

HEIRLOOM PRODUCE
This summer we are partnering with Adam's Heirlooms to bring you delicious, local produce. Adam & Diana don't use any hybrids or GMOs which results in vegetables that are amazing in their variety and flavor! We currently have Greens, Cherries, Peas, Radishes and Green Garlic with more options coming each week. Our farm will also again be offering non-GMO, never-sprayed Sweet Corn! Pick up some produce this weekend at our Farm Store

HAY SEASON
With all of the rain we received this spring we had a great first crop of hay. Many days were spent cutting, raking, baling and hauling it off the hayfields. It's hard work but it's fun and we have beautiful views! Plus it means non-GMO alfalfa feed for our animals through the winter.

BULK ORDERS
Our next bulk orders will be available JULY 23 & 25. Deposits are due Saturday, JULY 4! Corriente & Angus beef, pork, and Alaskan Salmon are all currently available. Do you want to try our meat before you make a big purchase? Stop by our farm store this weekend and pick up some separate cuts.

GET YOUR CHICKEN!
Whole birds & cut-ups are now available. Boneless/Skinless breasts, tenders, leg/thigh, bones, wings, organs & feet.

SAUSAGE OPTIONS
Have you tried our pork sausage? Made without BHA, BHT or MSG, it now comes in both one pound packages and breakfast LINKS! Whip up a quick, healthy breakfast by frying a few links alongside some pastured eggs in the morning. $5.50/pound and available at our store.

GET YOUR GRILL ON FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY!
Brats, burgers and pork shoulder steaks were on the menu for our Father's Day BBQ this past weekend. We enjoyed them all, especially the steaks as they were amazing on the grill. July 4th will be here next week - don't forget to stock up with your favorite UNM cuts for your holiday BBQ!

The wait is over - we have CHICKEN!

Currently whole birds only with cut-ups coming soon. We will continue to have them in stock through the remainder of the year.

One of the frequent comments we receive is from new customers who have been searching for a chicken source in Utah and are so happy to finally find us. We want to get the word out. Please let your fellow natural eaters know that our farm is the place to go!

Store Hours are

Monthly Update - May 2015

BRAND NEW CALF
This sweet, little heifer calf was born to one of our milk cows this week. We're glad she arrived in between thunderstorms. No, we're not selling milk yet but we are continually working on our own dairy. We hope to be up and running by the end of the summer.

BULK ORDERS
Our next bulk orders will be available JUNE 25 & 27. Deposits are due Saturday, JUNE 6! Corriente & Angus beef, pork, and Alaskan Salmon are all currently available. Do you want to try our meat before you make a big purchase? Stop by our farm store this weekend and pick up some separate cuts.

"ORANGE" YOU GLAD YOU EAT UNM EGGS?
Because seriously, look at their color! Can't you tell these come from happy hens? The more grass a hen chooses to eat the darker the yolk is. They're nutrient-rich, full of flavor, and way better than any egg you can get at a grocery store. Pick up a dozen or two at the farm - $5.00/dozen

"DO YOU SELL ORGANS & BONES?"
This is the one question we are asked the most, so we now have a separate page on our website with all the information. Everything - head to tail - that we can use from our animals we have in the store. Interested in making beef broth? Want to add some ground heart to your favorite ground beef meal? This is the place to go! ORGANS & BONES

THE OTHER WHITE MEAT?
One is a beef rib steak, the other a pork shoulder steak. Can you tell which is which? Not all cuts are quite this dark, but real pastured pork is hardly "the other white meat". (Answer: pork on the left, beef on the right.) Pork shoulder steak is our new favorite cut we carry in our store - tender and delicious.

Monthly Update - April 2015

WHY IS OUR PORK BETTER?
Farmer Shayn explains why and shows our pigs acting like, well, pigs! Pastured pork without GMOs, cured without sodium nitrate, and sausages without msg, bha or bht. Plus, BACON. Need we say more? Watch it here and then come by the farm and pick up some pork to try!

Why Our Pastured, Natural Pork is Different

SPRING = LAMBS
We love spring on the farm because it means new life and new animals. We've had so many lambs born in the past few weeks. There have been a few we needed to intervene and help, but most of them are doing well.

BULK ORDERS
Our next bulk orders will be available May 7 & 9. Deposits are due this Saturday, April 18 so don't delay! Corriente & Angus beef, pork, lamb and Alaskan Salmon are all currently available. Do you want to try our meat before you make a big purchase? Stop by our farm store this weekend and pick up some separate cuts.

DO WE HAVE CHICKEN?
Not yet, but we will soon! Did you know our farm is the only place in the state where you can buy authentic, LOCALLY raised, PASTURED poultry? We recently moved our birds out on grass and they're doing so well - we plan on having chicken available beginning in June.   We'll send an email out and update our Facebook page when they're ready!
